In a significant step toward fostering youth engagement and community development, Volunteer.KRD has officially launched its first Volunteer Club at the University of Duhok. The initiative addresses the growing need for a dedicated space where young volunteers can connect, collaborate, and cultivate their skills.
The newly inaugurated club is a fully equipped hub designed to host trainings, workshops, meetings, and a variety of events aimed at empowering the next generation of changemakers. At the heart of the club is a Board of Directors composed of both students and alumni with demonstrated experience in civic and community engagement. The board will lead the club’s vision, activities, and long-term sustainability.
Board of Directors:
1. Niyan Nadhem, President
2. Zilan Bayar, Vice President
3. Dlshad Abdulkhaliq, Secretary
4. Rayan Khider, Operations
5. Zanyar Diyar, Treasury
6. Mahnaz Masoud Basheer, Volunteer Services
The launch ceremony featured an official ribbon-cutting by officials from the university and the Kurdistan Foundation. The event continued with speeches delivered by representatives from the governorate, Volunteer.KRD staff, and the Club’s President, followed by a guided tour of the club’s facilities. The establishment of the Volunteer.KRD Club in Duhok stands as a testament to the organization’s commitment to empowering youth and strengthening volunteerism across the Kurdistan Region. Through this space, we aim to create lasting impact by equipping volunteers with the tools, community, and support they need to thrive.
